Sports Betting in Canada
Canadian betting volume sits overwhelmingly on hockey and on the big American leagues, and so does the sharpest pricing — an NHL moneyline is the last place to look for a mistake by the odds compiler. The sports below are listed with the competitions we cover for each, including the ones where books still price by feel rather than by model.

Where the value hides
The rule of thumb is unglamorous: the more money a market takes, the thinner the margin and the harder it is to beat. A bettor who follows a junior hockey league, a university conference, a curling draw or a second-tier tennis bracket is working against a line that was set with less information than the one on tonight's NHL game. Our competition pages are written to be read before you shop the price, not after.
Shop the price, because the price differs
Two sportsbooks rarely hold the same number on the same game, and the gap is the closest thing to free money in betting. Holding accounts at three books and taking the best of three prices on every bet changes the arithmetic of a season more than any tipping service does. That is also the honest argument for reading a shortlist: the second and third accounts are worth opening.
Parlays are where the margin compounds
A four-leg parlay does not carry the margin of one bet; it carries all four, multiplied. That is why the same bettors who shop single prices to the half-point will drop a six-selection slip without checking what it pays against the true odds. Our guide to parlays does that arithmetic in dollars, and the terminology page explains the words a bet slip uses without ever defining them.
Live betting and streaming
Live markets move on information, and on a phone the delay between the arena and your screen is information you do not have. We flag which books stream the competition you are betting on, which ones hold a bet for a few seconds before accepting it, and what that delay does to a bet placed on what you just watched.
Jackpots and pools are a different game
Pooled products — a fixed-stake multi-game slip with a shared prize pot — are not priced like an accumulator you build yourself. The stake is set, the pot is divided among winners, and the number of correct legs needed for a consolation payout is whatever the operator decided. Treat them as a lottery ticket with a sports theme and keep the stake out of the bankroll you use for single bets.

A figure we cannot point at a source for does not go on the page, and the number out of ten beside a shortlist row is a position marker for that table — see how we rate. We do not hold player accounts, take deposits or pay out winnings.
