Sanchez Favourite To Win American Idol
This season's American Idol has already been whittled down to the final 13 contestants, with the current betting favorite being Californian Jessica Sanchez.
The ten contestants chosen by fans of American Idol gave a stellar performance this week, but three stood out - Jessica Sanchez, Heejun Han and Phillip Phillips.
Three other contestants - Erika van Pelt, Deandre Brackensick and Jeremy Rosado - were selected by the judges as wild cards to return to the competition.
Sanchez is currently the 4/1 favorite to win American Idol. She is favored to win because of her great voice and incredible stage presence and could become the first contestant of Filipino heritage to win American Idol.
American Idol judges Jennifer Lopez, Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler have given her unprecedented praise and are clearly rooting for her.
She also received support from Newsday's Jamshid Mousavinez, who said of her: "Jessica Sanchez, favored by many to win it all, has the complete package - great voice, natural stage presence and that X-factor that forces you to keep watching whenever she performs. I cannot wait to see what she does next week!"

But while Sanchez is the favorite to win American Idol, carrying odds of 4/1 to take the top title, it is still early days and anything can happen in the next few weeks.
Phillip Phillips, also at 4/1, could pose a serious threat to Sanchez. His wildly creative personality is very likeable, and his good voice and good looks have made him a firm favorite among American Idol punters.
Hollie Cavanaugh could also threaten the top spots and her super sweet personality has the potential to get fans to vote for her. As the weeks progress and viewers get to see these powerhouses in action, the best singers will begin to stand out and the betting markets will become even more interesting.
