India vs South Africa Preview – 2nd Test Cricket Predictions
The three-match T20I series between India and South Africa has been mired in controversy off the field. Despite the distractions, India have kept their sights set on extending their lead in the Test series. The Men in Blue defeated South Africa by 203 runs in Visakhapatnam, making the second Test a must-win for the Proteas. Rohit Sharma headlined the first Test with a phenomenal 100-run partnership with the red ball.
2nd Test Match – India vs South Africa Predictions
The Proteas have looked anything but themselves since returning from the ICC Cricket World Cup after a disappointing performance. At the top of the ICC World Test Championship stand India with gold in hand. Next to them on the podium are South Africa, but not for long. It seems they may be in the running for the wooden spoon come that time in 2022019; but at least they have made it past the 120-run mark, considering India120.--- South Africa 191. They certainly need to bounce back.
If South Africa are to mount a comeback against India, they will need to show that they can cope with the Indian fast bowlers. Ishant Sharma was lethal with the ball, taking one wicket in the first innings, while Mohammed Shami took a handful of wickets (five to be exact) in quick succession in the second innings.
Indian Cricket Woes
Ravi Shastri, the head coach of the Indian cricket team, spoke about MS Dhoni's availability ahead of Wednesday's match. He explained that it is up to the former skipper to decide whether he wants to return to the team or not. Dhoni has not featured for India since taking a break after the Cricket World Cup. Well before the start of the home series against South Africa, Dhoni had withdrawn from selection for the tour of the West Indies, and discussions about his possible retirement had begun.
Despite the ambiguity, the oddsmakers still predict that India should have enough firepower to win the match in their own backyard.
